Product Description

Rubber hawai Chappal is subject to IS 10702:1992. BIS adopted this Indian standard after the draft finalized by the Footwear Sector Committee was approved by the Chemistry Sector Board. This standard specifies the requirements and methods for sampling and testing Hawai chappal rubber for general use. This standard was created to help manufacturers maintain the quality of their products. Both types of rubber hawai chappal must be made from natural rubber or synthetic rubber, or a combination of both. The material must be vulcanized, homogeneous and sulfur-free. Stamp marks must be neat and clean, and the surface must be well finished, free of bubbles, voids, sagging, and imperfections.

- Minimum marking fee: Rs. 124000 for Large Scale , Rs. 100000 for Medium Scale, Rs. 100000 for Small Scale and Rs. 100000 for Micro Scale Enterprises units
- BIS testing fee: 25,000/- INR (approx.)

Step by step procedure to apply BIS certification for rubber hawai chappal:


Step 1. Pre-testing of the product from a third-party laboratory approved by BIS.
Step 2. Filing of the application along with requisite documents on the BIS Manak portal.
Step 3. Payment of the government fee as applicable.
Step 4. Scrutiny of the application by the BIS officers.
Step 5. Factory inspection will be conducted by the BIS officer at the factory premises.
Step 6. During factory inspection, BIS officer will check plant layout, process flow chart, competency of the QCI Person, testing facilities, etc., and after verification, samples will be sealed by the BIS officer.
Step 7. Dispatch the samples sealed by the BIS officer during inspection to the concerned BIS Central laboratory and submit the POD (proof of delivery) of the samples on the BIS Manak Portal.
Step 8: After the final examination of all the documents by the head of the BIS Department, the license for BIS on wheel rims will be granted.

30 to 45 days
