According to the BIS Act 2016, the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulation, 2018, governs the procedure to apply BIS certification for mobile phones (Scheme II of Schedule II). The program aims to protect Indian customers against fraudulent and subpar goods while assisting the rapidly expanding electronic and information technology businesses.
A standard mark with a BIS-obtained unique registration number must be used on all products that are produced, stored for sale, imported, sold, or distributed. IS 13252(Part 1):2010 is applicable on BIS certification for mobile phones . Each company that distributes, sells, or otherwise transacts in mobile phones must register separately BIS Certification for mobile phones under Scheme II.
